Download the originally submitted document

Sometimes you will need to access the document that the student actually submitted, rather than the version rendered for marking by Turnitin. For example, if Turnitin is unable to display the marking version or if you wish to follow any links the student has included, you will need the original document.

You can only access the original document after the Turnitin post date has passed.

DO NOT alter the post date without first taking steps to ensure that students do not see the marks and feedback earlier than you intend. Contact your administrator or the TEL Team for advice if you are unsure.

To download the originally submitted document

  1. Open the submission you need in Feedback Studion (How?)
  2. Select the Download optionLook in the right-hand panel and click the download option.
  3. Original fileFrom the pop-up box select Originally Submitted File. The file will now be downloaded to your computer.

If the Originally Submitted File option is greyed out then it is likely that the post date has not passed, speak to your administrator or the TEL Team for advice. DO NOT alter the post date without first taking steps to ensure that students do not see the marks and feedback earlier than you intend.
